Causasus Roadtrip II: Baku, Azerbaijan

Two weekends, two roadtrips! This weekend we flew to Baku. I find that flying is faster but loses some of the allure of a real roadtrip. But you do get duty free shopping, which is nice. We stayed in a nice hotel where everyone knew mommy; daddy not so much (I am still trying to figure out how that works). I also met Jen's colleagues in the Baku office, and once again everyone thought I was really cute and a great boy!

Caucasus Roadtrip: Tbilisi to Yerevan

Last weekend we made our first big roadtrip; destination Yerevan, Armenia. I especially liked the border crossings (see Daddy in the background), the ducks and flowers in the park, Yerevan at night, and pitstops along the beautiful drive! We stayed in a lovely apartment where I got great baths:) More coming soon...

Tbilisi: Jetlagged in the Office

We arrived to Tbilisi! We work hard in this family so we all went straight into the office. I work so hard that I went into both offices! But I met some really fun people who toasted me starting at 11 in the morning! And all the women said that I was very "bednieri" (intelligent) and "lamazi" (beautiful). Atleast, that is what I think they said. But I will learn for sure soon enough...

The Journey: Octoberfest

Actually, I slept through our second layover; Octoberfest, Munich, but I understand that Jim and Colin had a good time. In lieu of a photo of the action in the Munich, I offer a candid photo.

The Journey: What Still in DC?

Yes, it seemed we stayed in DC a long time...here we are, kids, Big Ben, or is that the Washington Monument? And guess what a surprise visit from Aunt Liz and Grandma Helen!

The Journey: Rest on the Road

And when the road calls, sometimes one needs a rest.

And a bath...

The Journey: The DC Dinner Party Stop-over

The Journey from Santa Fe to Tbilisi stops in DC, and so did I. We spent the week visiting new friends, the offices, and DC dinner parties, the best one was at Kim's (above). Not to mention cocktails by the Washington Monument. I enjoyed my first visit to Bella Roma. But I couldn't stay long...the road called.

The Journey Begins: The Train

Like all good travel stories, this one begins with a detour: For the ocassion of September 22, the birthdays and anniversary of Chris and Helen, we took the historic Santa Fe Special for a sunset trip! I enjoyed my first train ride!
